Afshan Azad is a British actress, model, and media personality who achieved global recognition for her role as Padma Patil in the internationally acclaimed Harry Potter film franchise.Born on February 12, 1988, in Manchester, England, Azad is of Bangladeshi descent. She unexpectedly launched her acting career in 2004 when casting agents visited her school. After auditioning "just for the fun of it," she successfully landed the role of Padma Patil for the series' fourth installment.Azad made her debut on the big screen in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005).
